Low mood rarely announces itself. It settles in slowly — a bit less energy, a few more evenings on the sofa, fewer replies to messages — until one day you notice you cannot remember the last time you felt properly like yourself.

Therapy for low mood starts with making room for it. You will not be told to cheer up, and you will not be handed a list of self-care tips. We will want to understand what the heaviness is made of: sometimes loss, sometimes exhaustion, sometimes years of putting everyone else first.

Alongside that, small practical steps can help the body lead the mind. Jonah often works with low mood on walk-and-talk sessions, where simply being outside and moving is part of the work.

If at any point you feel unsafe, please do not wait for your next session: call [local emergency number] or [crisis line].

Questions about low mood

Is this depression?

It might be, and a GP can help you find out. You do not need a diagnosis to come to therapy, and we will not give you one.

I do not know what I would even talk about.

That is one of the most common things people say on the free call. We start with how the last week has been. It is enough.
