Grief is not a problem to be solved, and nobody at Havenoak will try to move you through it on a timetable. What therapy offers is a place to put it down for an hour: somewhere you do not have to protect anyone else from how you feel.
People often bring the parts of grief they cannot say elsewhere — anger at the person who died, relief after a long illness, a loss other people do not seem to recognise. All of it belongs.
Ella holds a postgraduate certificate in bereavement and sees many people after a death. Priya works with couples and families where a loss has changed how everyone relates to each other.
Over time, most people find grief becomes something they carry rather than something that carries them.

Is it too soon to come?
There is no right time. Some people come in the first weeks; others come years later, when grief catches up with them.
The loss was not a death. Is that still grief?
Yes. The end of a relationship, a miscarriage, a health diagnosis, losing a job or a country — all of it is grief, and all of it is welcome here.
