Founder, integrative psychotherapist
Ella Rourke
Fifteen years alongside people through anxiety, loss and the quiet kind of low mood that hides behind a functioning life.
Ella opened Havenoak in 2016 after ten years in a busy NHS talking-therapies team, because she wanted to offer the thing waiting lists could not: time, and the same face every week.
She works integratively, which is a plain way of saying she does not push everyone through one method. Some weeks you might follow a thread back into your history; other weeks you stay with something practical and current. The through-line is the relationship — a steady, honest one, where you can say the thing you have never said out loud.
People often describe her as calm and quietly funny. She will never pretend to have answers she does not, and she will never make you feel like a case.
Outside the room she swims in the sea from May to October and pretends she will keep going in November.
