Person-centred counsellor, walk-and-talk
Jonah Pell
Gentle, unhurried counselling indoors or outdoors, for people who find sitting face to face too much.
Jonah runs Havenoak’s walk-and-talk sessions: an hour side by side along the seafront or up on the Downs, walking at whatever pace suits you. Plenty of people find it easier to talk when they are not being looked at, and the sea does a lot of the work.
He is a person-centred counsellor, which means he trusts that you know more about your life than he does. His job is to help you hear yourself clearly. He is especially good with low mood that has settled in quietly, and with people who have never talked to anyone before.
Indoors, he works in the smaller room with the big window. Outdoors, he carries a spare waterproof and has never yet cancelled for rain.
Jonah holds most of the practice’s sliding-scale places.
